Cultural events scheduled in Rubano and Cremona
Two distinct musical events are scheduled in Italy for late October. In Rubano, the Opera della Provvidenza S. Antonio (OPSA) will host a classical concert titled ‘per una pietra che Vive’ on Friday, October 30, at 20:45. Featuring the Orchestra Barocca di Bologna, directed by Paolo Faldi, and the Coro Iris Ensemble, directed by Marina Malavasi, the performance will consist entirely of music by J.S. Bach. The event celebrates the 70th anniversary of the laying of OPSA’s first stone and the 20th anniversary of the Casa Madre Teresa di Calcutta multifunctional center. Admission is free.
In Cremona, guitarist Ugo Nastrucci will perform a solo recital on Saturday, October 31, at 12:00 in the Auditorium Giovanni Arvedi of the Museo del Violino. The performance features the Sabionari guitar, an instrument crafted by Antonio Stradivari in 1679. The program, titled ‘Il confine invisibile’, explores the relationship between written musical scores and improvisation within Baroque aesthetics. The Sabionari guitar is part of a private collection owned by Roberto and Ruggero Domenichini and is temporarily on loan to the museum.
