Cultural events scheduled in Schweinfurt and Großkrotzenburg

Various cultural and historical events are scheduled in Germany. In Schweinfurt, the exhibition ‘Life, Death, and Memory’ opens at casa Vielfalt on October 24. The showcase features works by regional artists exploring how different cultures approach mortality and the concept of finitude. The project was initiated by artist and physician Dr. Jorge Humberto Tapia Pérez and Marion Hammer.

In Großkrotzenburg, the Heimat- und Geschichtsverein will host a lecture titled ‘Blood Jurisdiction in Ancient Times’ on October 30, 2026. Author and city guide Meßenzehl will discuss medieval jurisprudence, the societal role of executioners, and the medical knowledge required for their duties. The presentation will cover the distinction between various historical roles, such as the ‘Nachrichter’ and the ‘Züchtiger’.
