Cultural events scheduled in Split and Slavonski Brod
The city of Split will host the 13th annual Week of Remembrance for Vukovar and Škabrnja from November 9 to 15, 2026. Organized by the Croatian Association Benedikt and the Museum of the Homeland War, the event aims to preserve the culture of remembrance and honor Croatian defenders and civilian victims of the Homeland War.
The program includes book presentations, documentary film screenings, and student art performances. A featured event is the presentation of the book “Nevidljivi suborac” by Jure Ćorušić, which contains personal testimonies from soldiers, medical workers, and civilians from various battlefronts and camps.
In Slavonski Brod, the “Tadijine jeseni” manifestation has begun to honor the life and work of the prominent Croatian poet Dragutin Tadijanović. The week-long series of events involves museums, galleries, and schools. Highlights include an exhibition at the Dragutin and Jele Tadijanović Memorial Home featuring a rare copy of his 1936 collection, “Pjevaj, moje srce,” which was notably translated into Esperanto.
