Cultural events scheduled in Taranto and Salerno

Various cultural and historical events are scheduled in Italy. In Taranto, the Teatro Fusco will host a performance of William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” on October 3, 2026. Organized by the Lions Club Taranto Host with the support of the Municipality of Taranto, the production features students from the Francisco Tárrega Music Academy. All proceeds from the event will be donated to AGITO, an association providing support to families dealing with serious illness and bereavement.

In Salerno, the third annual “Serata Regimen San Matteo” is set for September 18 at the Teatro Auditorium del Convitto Nazionale “Torquato Tasso”. Organized by the Comitato Fiera del Mediterraneo – Città di Salerno and other local federations, the event aims to celebrate the historical significance of the ancient San Matteo Fair. The program includes the historical comedy “Abemus Ferae Salerni” and a conference regarding Salerno’s medieval role in the Mediterranean, featuring archaeological and theological perspectives.
