Cultural events scheduled in Vorarlberg and Bavarian Forest
Cultural events are scheduled for mid-October in Austria and Germany. In Dornbirn, Austria, ORF Vorarlberg will host the ‘Heimatherbst’ event on October 17. The program focuses on folk music and dialect poetry, featuring the posthumous publication of Adolf Vallaster’s ‘Freasszeadl-Lyrik’ and a new collection of Vorarlberg folk songs for the Styrian harmonica by Lucas Oberer. Musical performances will include various ensembles such as the Alpdudler and the 5er Alphorn Gspann.
In Germany, pianist Stefan Urlbauer will perform a matinee titled ‘Zwischen Blüte und Frost’ on October 18 at the Haus zur Wildnis in the Bavarian Forest National Park. The program includes works by Tchaikovsky, Sisask, and Vasks, designed to connect musical themes of nature and the seasons with the surrounding landscape. The event is held at the facility’s cinema and is free to the public.
