Cultural excellence awards presented in Favignana and San Giorgio Jonico

Several cultural and community excellence awards were recently presented in Italy. In Favignana, the eighth edition of the Premio 91023 celebrated contributions to the Egadi archipelago. Recipients included Michele Gallitto for his research and preservation of the islands' history, jazz musician Giovanni Balistreri for his artistic connection to the region, and ASD Gianno Fitness / CrossFit Egadi for promoting sport and inclusion.

In San Giorgio Jonico, the Premio Città delle Tagghjate honored Rosaria Scialpi in the culture category. Scialpi, a philologist, essayist, and poet, was recognized for her research into the historical, literary, and civil identity of the Mediterranean and Puglia, specifically for her work regarding the history of women in Italy.
