Cultural exhibitions announced in Girona and Escaldes-Engordany

Several new art and cultural exhibitions have been announced across Catalonia and Andorra. In Girona, the CaixaForum is hosting ‘Mirades orbitals’, an exhibition featuring high-resolution satellite imagery from the European Space Agency. The display uses interactive elements to illustrate human impact on Earth, including comparisons of the ozone layer between 2021 and 2025, the effects of the 2024 Valencia floods, and the 2021 La Palma volcanic eruption.

Additionally, the Espai Barri Vell in Girona will open ‘De l’Empordà al món’ on November 6. This exhibition by artist Cati Salazar creates a pictorial dialogue with the works of writer Aurora Bertrana, inspired by Bertrana’s books written in the 1930s regarding Polynesia, Morocco, and Switzerland.

In Escaldes-Engordany, Andorra, the Centre d’Art d’Escaldes-Engordany (CAEE) has unveiled its programming through September 2027. Highlights include an exhibition of approximately 100 graphic works by Keith Haring scheduled for mid-2027. Other upcoming shows include ‘Antifèmina’, focusing on feminist photography and texts, and an exhibition dedicated to the 300-year history of the Real Fábrica de Tapices.
