Cultural exhibitions announced in Hungary and Romania

Several cultural events and exhibitions are being highlighted in Hungary and Romania. In Hungary, the Petőfi Literary Museum (PIM) will host ‘Night of Researchers’ on September 25, 2026. The event offers free, registration-only access to previously hidden museum areas, including restoration workshops and archives. The program includes guided tours of exhibitions featuring the literary work of György Faludy, the multifaceted art of László Nagy, and the historical studies of Mór Jókai.

In Târgu Mureș, Romania, the Gyűjtemények Háza is hosting a special exhibition of Ernő Beke’s private owl collection. The collection features over 300 items made from diverse materials such as wood, marble, alabaster, wax, clay, glass, and even hand-stitched fabric. The display also incorporates owl-patterned napkins from Beke’s collection of 24,000 napkins, alongside puzzles and tapestries, while providing educational context regarding the cultural symbolism of owls throughout history.
