Cultural exhibitions announced in Madrid and Cartagena

The Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid will host a reconstruction of ‘La Menesunda’, a landmark immersive installation by Argentine artist Marta Minujín. Running from November 18, 2026, to March 8, 2027, the exhibition marks the first time this multisensorial work has been presented in a Spanish public institution.

Originally conceived in 1965, the installation uses tactile environments, neon lights, and sensory stimuli to transform the viewer from a passive observer into an active participant. This reconstruction is the result of research initiated in 2015 and involves international co-production.

In Cartagena, the Museo Nacional de Arqueología Subacuática (ARQVA) is hosting an outdoor exhibition titled ‘Buenas Prácticas’. The display features ten panels highlighting underwater cultural heritage management projects recognized by UNESCO. The exhibition, which runs until January 14, 2027, showcases research and conservation efforts regarding historical shipwrecks and submerged vestiges.
