Cultural exhibitions in Rome and Milan feature ancient Troy and 20th-century Italian art

Two significant cultural exhibitions are currently featured in Italy. In Rome, the Parco archeologico del Colosseo is hosting the ‘Troy and Rome’ exhibition, running until October 18. The display features over 300 artifacts, including 50 items never before seen in Italy, sourced from 19 Turkish and Italian museums. The exhibition explores the historical, archaeological, and topographical reconstruction of ancient Troy, connecting the legendary tales of the Iliad and Odyssey to physical remnants such as amphorae, terracotta figurines, and marble bas-reliefs.

In Milan, the exhibition ‘Intime Visioni. ’900 segreto’ is scheduled to run from September 16 to October 14, 2026, at the Spazio IsolaSET in Palazzo Lombardia. Organized by the Associazione Flangini in collaboration with Regione Lombardia, the exhibition showcases approximately 90 works by roughly 30 Italian painters from the 20th century. The collection brings together established masters like Carlo Carrà, Felice Casorati, and Renato Guttuso with lesser-known artists, focusing on figurative production that engaged with Italian landscapes and traditions between the two World Wars and the post-war era.
