Cultural exhibitions open in Barcelos and Porto

Several cultural exhibitions are opening in Portugal to promote social dialogue and well-being. In Barcelos, the itinerant photographic exhibition ‘Viagem Cigana’ (Gypsy Journey) concludes its tour at the Jardim das Barrocas. The project, part of the Equality Month programming, uses 20 photographic panels to explore the history, language, and traditions of Roma communities to challenge stereotypes and promote inclusivity. It will remain on display until October 20.

In Porto, the Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis will inaugurate the ‘Travessia’ exhibition on October 9. This initiative is part of the Art and Health Program, a collaboration between the museum and local health units (ULSSA and ULSSJ). The exhibition features individual and collective artist books that combine drawings, collages, and personal fragments to foster reflection on mental health and community well-being. The exhibition will run until December 13.
