Cultural exhibitions open in Elvas and Brasília

Two cultural exhibitions are currently open to the public in Portugal and Brazil.

In Elvas, Portugal, the Museu Municipal da Fotografia João Carpinteiro has inaugurated the temporary exhibition ‘S. Mateus – O Nosso Cristo/Nuestro Cristo’. Running until October 31, the showcase features photographs by the late João Manuel Carpinteiro and Spanish photographer Coral Blanco. The collection offers an artistic perspective on the figure of Senhor Jesus da Piedade, the patron of the S. Mateus festivities.

In Brasília, Brazil, the Museu Nacional da República is hosting ‘Utopias em construção: Brasília nas dobras do tempo’ until October 4. This free exhibition, a partnership between Metrópoles Arte and the Arquivo Público do Distrito Federal, features approximately 120 works, including photographs, architectural projects by Oscar Niemeyer and Lúcio Costa, and historical documents. The display is organized into three sections: Área Monumental, Segmentos Radiais, and Núcleo Documental.
