Cultural exhibitions open in Irapuato and Alcalá de Henares
The Museo Salvador Almaraz in Irapuato has launched the photography exhibition ‘FOTOSEPTIEMBRE: Naturaleza de la Ausencia’ as part of the 2026 Mexico International Photography Festival. In collaboration with the Centro de la Imagen, the exhibit features works by five members of the Colectivo Amigos por la Foto: Cheli López, Saúl Alonso, Isaías López, Osvaldo Peña, and Federico Vargas. The collection explores themes of memory, territory, and landscape through the lens of loss and presence.
In Alcalá de Henares, the University of Alcalá is hosting a free exhibition titled ‘Objetos con Historia’ at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. Running from September 11 to 28, the display features photographs, posters, and replicas of artifacts from archaeological excavations in the Theban Necropolis (Luxor, Egypt). The exhibition is the result of research by the Middle Kingdom Theban Project and the CIARQ research group, showcasing findings from years of fieldwork led by Egyptology professor Antonio J. Morales.
