Cultural exhibitions open in Lencsés and Szepetnek
The Lencsési Community House has launched a new exhibition featuring the works of András Mengyán, an internationally recognized artist originally from Békéscsaba. The event coincides with the 35th anniversary of the community house. Mengyán, an 81-year-old painter and graphic artist, described his current artistic focus as exploring transparency and the concept of space through polyphony.
In Szepetnek, the local history collection celebrated its 10th anniversary. Established in 2016 with support from the Ministry of Human Resources, the collection showcases the built, natural, and spiritual heritage of the settlement, including the history of the Croatian, German, and Roma minorities. A notable feature of the collection is the ‘Szepetnek Wire Workers’ exhibit, which commemorates local workers who built telegraph and telephone networks.
