Cultural exhibitions open in Porto Velho and Maringá

Two distinct cultural exhibitions have opened in Brazil. In Porto Velho, the Museu da Comunicação, maintained by the newspaper Rondoniaovivo, has launched a traveling exhibition at the Madeira-Mamoré Railway Complex. The collection features historical communication technology, including typewriters, broadcasting equipment, and a 1918 American military telegraph. The exhibit aims to demonstrate how technology has transformed information production and includes items related to the history of Rondônia.

In Maringá, the “Raízes” exhibition by self-taught artist Mario Kimura opened at the Hélenton Borba Côrtes Museum of History and Art within the Calil Haddad Theater. The showcase features sculptures crafted from tree roots and wood found in the region, alongside archaeological artifacts discovered by the artist during agricultural work. The collection includes items ranging from 6,000 to 8,000 years old, as well as materials related to the Kaingang tradition.
