Cultural festivals and choral performances announced in Spain and Peru

The VII Festival de Copla y Canción ‘Ay, chiclanera’ will take place at the Teatro Moderno in Chiclana from September 23 to 26. The event features a strong female presence in both performance and authorship. The lineup includes Pablo Cano, Pilar Boyero, and Milián Oneto, alongside a theatrical representation of ‘Amalia y el río’. Tickets are priced at 10 euros.

In Peru, the renowned choral group Voces del Sol will present ‘América’ at the Gran Teatro Nacional this Saturday and Sunday. Directed by Claudia Rheineck, the show explores themes of migration through the music of artists such as Los Prisioneros, Charly García, Natalia Lafourcade, Mercedes Sosa, Calle 13, and Silvio Rodríguez. The group, which placed third in the 2024 ‘Sing for Gold - The World Choral Cup’, aims to connect social issues with musical expression.
