Cultural festivals and circus events held across Brazil

Various cultural initiatives are taking place across Brazil, highlighting circus arts and dance. In Ceará, the 12th International Circus Festival of Ceará is hosting the ‘Luz no Picadeiro’ program. This initiative offers free workshops, debates, and practical training in circus techniques such as juggling, trapeze, and clowning. The program spans several cities, including Fortaleza, Paracuru, Itapipoca, and Aracati, through November 28.

Additionally, the 10th International Dance Biennial of Ceará has arrived in Canoa Quebrada. The event features free contemporary dance performances and popular culture manifestations at locations such as the Circo Escola and local cliffs. The biennial continues through November 1 in Baturité, Guaramiranga, and Fortaleza.

In Canelinha, the Circo-íris company is conducting the ‘Circo-íris na Rua’ project on October 29 and 30. The program includes circus shows, street theater, and community training. This initiative follows an eviction order for the company’s headquarters, marking a transition for the collective as they continue to engage with the community through public spaces.
