Cultural festivals and exhibitions open in Pirot and Grabrovnica
The 5th Pirot Carpet Festival has opened in Pirot, Serbia, under the theme ‘The Thread That Connects Generations’. The event coincided with the unveiling of a new 270-square-meter gallery space at the Museum of Ponišavlje, which was reconstructed using funds from the City of Pirot.
The new museum space features an exhibition of representative Pirot carpets from the museum’s collection, while the courtyard hosts approximately twenty carpets from private collections. Officials, including Minister Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, emphasized the importance of carpet weaving as a means of preserving cultural identity and tradition.
In Croatia, the ‘Pitomački kreativci 2026’ exhibition opened at the House of Petar Preradović in Grabrovnica. Organized by the ‘Duga’ Art Club, the exhibition features works by three artists—Bernardica Hrvoić, Valentina Pajtl, and Martina Miloš—showcasing diverse techniques including watercolor, oil on canvas, and mixed media with 3D elements.
