Cultural festivals and Silleteros winners announced in Colombia

Cultural celebrations are underway in the Antioquia region of Colombia. In Itagüí, the traditional Fiestas de la Industria, el Comercio y la Cultura have launched, featuring over 200 free events scheduled through August 17. The festivities include the II Gran Festival del Humor and a dedicated week for local artists, involving more than 2,000 musicians, dancers, and performers across various municipal venues.

In Medellín, the 69th edition of the Desfile de Silleteros has concluded, naming its winners across seven distinct categories. John Jairo Grajales Gómez, from the El Porvenir district, was named the absolute winner and also took first place in the Traditional category, receiving a prize of COP 10,700,000. The parade featured 545 silleteros participating in a 2.4-kilometer route, highlighting generational traditions through junior and child categories.
