Cultural festivals announced in Suncheon and Hongseong

The Suncheon Cultural Foundation has announced the ‘2026 Suncheon Classic Festa,’ a three-day outdoor classical music festival held at Ocheon Green Plaza from October 30 to November 1. The event features prominent artists including conductor Keum Nan-se, the crossover group La Poem, and pianist Yuhki Kuramoto. The program includes narrated concerts, popera performances with the New World Philharmonic Orchestra, and a finale featuring local choirs and the Suncheon City Choral Group.

In Hongseong, the Hongju Cultural Tourism Foundation will host the ‘2026 Hongseong Baekban Festa’ on October 17 and 18 at the Gwangcheon Cultural Market. Celebrating the market's 100th anniversary, the festival will feature local specialties such as Gwangcheon seaweed and salted shrimp through various new menu items, including seaweed tacos and shrimp garlic mini pizzas. The event includes a night market, cooking classes, and interactive challenges designed to revitalize the local commercial district.
