Cultural festivals celebrate 15th anniversaries in Spain

Two regional cultural events are celebrating their 15th editions this weekend. In Rozaes (Villaviciosa), the Mediu Güeyu Festival features a program of cinema, photography, and audiovisual experimentation. Highlights include a photography exhibition by José Manuel Navia showcasing images of Asturias from 1988 to the present, alongside experimental sound and visual performances such as RZA8S and Nekrobongolord. The festival also offers community workshops involving traditional mask-making and real-time short film creation using a hórreo as a pinhole camera.

In Puçol, the Puçol Short Film Festival marks its 15th anniversary with screenings and an awards gala. The program includes the ‘xprés’ section, where 12 groups competed to create short films within a 48-hour timeframe. The festival has seen significant engagement from local youth, with approximately 500 students participating in scheduled screenings. The event concludes with a closing ceremony to present awards for the national, regional, and ‘xprés’ categories.
