Cultural festivals celebrate diversity in Remiremont and Lausanne

Various cultural festivals held on August 29 focused on celebrating diversity and intercultural connection. In Remiremont, France, the “Nos Cultures, Nos Voix” event took place at Espace Belvédère and the City Stade following a previous postponement due to heat. The event featured mixed-gender and mixed-age football tournaments, traditional African dance workshops, and an exhibition where residents shared art, photography, and crafts inspired by their heritage.

In Lausanne, Switzerland, the “Afrique en Ville” festival transformed Valency Park into a space for African cultures and their diasporas. The program included concerts, dance, debates, and gastronomy, featuring musical styles such as afrobeat, amapiano, and afro-mandingue. The festival aims to highlight the existing African presence within the local community through artistic programming and civic discussion.
