Cultural festivals celebrate heritage in Cameroon and Mali
The 10th edition of the La Nuit du Patrimoine festival is scheduled to take place from October 21 to 24, 2026, in the markets of Douala and Nkongsamba, Cameroon. Organized by the association Patri(e) Art, this year’s theme, “Bayam-Sellam: the influencers of Mboa,” focuses on the Bayam-Sellam—market vendors who play a vital role in food supply and the transmission of cultural traditions and linguistic expressions.
In Mali, the 6th edition of the Koko Fashion Show will be held on October 24, 2026, at the Bamako International Conference Centre (CICB). Under the theme “Preserving Traditions,” the event aims to highlight Malian sartorial heritage, including traditional fabrics like bogolan and bazin. Organizers intend to use the showcase to promote local craftsmanship, cultural identity, and the commercial potential of Malian fashion to international markets and the diaspora.
