Cultural festivals celebrate milestones in France and Morocco

The Villes des musiques du monde festival is celebrating its 30th anniversary in Seine-Saint-Denis. Running from October 9 to November 8, the event features a diverse program including Raï, Greek chants, Tuareg blues, and Rajasthani traditional music. Highlights include opening concerts in Aubervilliers, street performances, exhibitions, and workshops.

In Morocco, the fifth edition of the World Flamenco Congress is underway, organized by the Instituto Cervantes in partnership with the Spanish Embassy. The itinerant event includes 14 shows across eight cities, including performances at the Mohammed V Theatre in Rabat. The program emphasizes the evolution of flamenco, blending heritage with contemporary creation and focusing on new generations and female voices.
