Cultural festivals celebrate Northeastern Brazilian traditions

Various cultural festivals are celebrating Northeastern Brazilian traditions through music, dance, and community workshops.

In Guarulhos, the Lago dos Patos will host the second edition of the Programa Conexão Lago 2026, featuring the Festival Vixi Maria on October 17 and 18. The free event includes musical performances by artists such as Gabriel Rocha and Peixelétrico, dance workshops, percussion experiences, and improvised quadrilha. The initiative is supported by the National Aldir Blanc Policy (PNAB).

In Natal, the Vila de Ponta Negra hosted the third edition of the Festival Ventre e Voz de Música, Cultura e Ancestralidade. This free event featured musical genres like coco de roda and forró, alongside traditional knowledge workshops such as herbalism and Axé dance. The festival also included a cultural procession and a discussion regarding the transmission of traditional knowledge to children.
