Cultural festivals conclude in Boyacá and Cauca regions

The 53rd edition of the International Festival of Peasant Culture (FICC) and the CosechArte Fair concluded in Boyacá on October 12, 2026. The eleven-day event featured a Plastic Arts Salon showcasing works from 29 local artists and included the second edition of the Estrella Boyacá contest. The festival's closing programming featured musical groups, Panaca shows, and the clown Bankiva.

Additionally, the documentary short film ‘Los tesoros de Natividad’, a winner of the FICC, premiered in Tunja. The film depicts rural life in Sotaquirá and aims to raise funds for housing improvements for an elderly resident.

In the Cauca region, the Culturizarte 2026 event was held at the La Ceiba Recreational Center in Puerto Tejada. Promoted by Comfacauca through its Foniñez programs, the gathering showcased the artistic talents of children and adolescents from northern Cauca. Participants presented music, dance, and cheerleading, alongside pedagogical stands focused on science, technology, bilingualism, and environmental stewardship.
