Cultural festivals held in Iquique and La Paz

Various cultural celebrations are taking place in Chile and Bolivia. In Iquique, Chile, the Municipality is organizing the ‘Fiesta de la Chilenidad’ at the Universidad Arturo Prat parking lots near Playa Brava. The four-day event features free entry, traditional gastronomy such as empanadas and cazuelas, local handicrafts, and live folklore music. Traditional games like rayuela and emboque will be available for families.

In La Paz, Bolivia, the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA) is hosting its traditional folklore pre-entry parade. The event involves 80 fraternities performing various dances, including morenadas, tinkus, and caporales, as a precursor to the XXXVII University Folklore Entry. The parade route spans from Plaza Gualberto Villarroel to Plaza General José de San Martín.
