Cultural festivals held in Sveti Križ Začretje and Virovitica

Various cultural and traditional celebrations are taking place across Croatia. In Sveti Križ Začretje, preparations are complete for the 58th Prvi glas Zagorja, scheduled from August 22 to 29, 2026. The event features a diverse program including music, culture, sports, and gastronomy. The central festival will showcase 11 amateur singers performing both traditional Kajkavian and pop songs, accompanied by a 20-piece orchestra. Additionally, a children's music competition, Dječji Prvi glas, will be held.

In Virovitica, the city has commenced a four-day celebration for Rokovo, marking the 792nd anniversary of the city and the feast day of its patron saint, St. Roch. The festivities include a book fair, heritage walks, art exhibitions, and workshops. The program features a traditional parade at Pejačević Castle, noble balls, and various food and music festivals, including performances by Petar Grašo.
