Cultural festivals in Argentina and Mexico promote storytelling and social reflection

The third edition of the Voz Florecida Festival is scheduled to take place in Formosa, Argentina, from September 1 to 5. The event features 20 storytellers from six different provinces, including Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Tucumán, Catamarca, and Chaco. The festival aims to use oral storytelling as a pedagogical tool and community connector, with 25 scheduled performances across schools, hospitals, and community centers.

In addition to performances, the festival includes various workshops, such as oral storytelling, puppetry, and the use of narration as a pedagogical tool for teaching students. The initiative is self-managed and led by communicator Marina Silveri in collaboration with the La Mandinga Independent Cultural Center.

In Mexico, the eighth edition of Muestra Divergentes will take place in Michoacán, with activities scheduled for September and November 2026. The film showcase uses cinema to reflect on gender-based violence through two main sections: 'Michoacán Short Films on Gender Violence' and 'National Perspectives.' The program includes screenings, workshops, and panels in cities such as Morelia, Pátzcuaro, Uruapan, and Zamora, specifically highlighting works by women and diverse identities addressing inequality and identity.
