Cultural festivals in Dijon and Besançon report significant engagement

The Dijon International and Gastronomic Fair is scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 11 at the Parc des Expositions et Congrès. Following a previous year with 170,000 visitors, organizers aim to emphasize international themes. This year’s featured regions include Canada, Vietnam, Japan, Italy, Tunisia, and, for the first time, sub-Saharan Africa. The event will include thirteen culinary competitions for professionals and amateurs, as well as special Halloween programming and evening events.

In Besançon, the 13th edition of the Détonation festival concluded on September 26, drawing 4,500 spectators. The festival reached capacity before opening, reflecting a successful transition to a more intimate, human-scale format. The event featured 45 artists across four stages, focusing on emerging talent and unique creative collaborations, such as projects involving the Grand Géant decorating collective.
