Cultural festivals in Grenoble and Blanakour promote African arts and heritage

The third edition of Festi Kitoko BD et livre is scheduled for September 25 and 26, 2026, in Grenoble. Organized by the association Ligorodo, the festival focuses on African comics, visual arts, and cultural expressions. The event will feature exhibitions, workshops, projections, conferences, and book signings, alongside slam poetry and African music to create a dialogue between graphic art and oral traditions.

In Niger, the third edition of the Festival de l’Artisanat et de la Culture de Blanakour (FARCUB) is taking place from September 4 to 6, 2026, in the Blanakour locality. The festival aims to use craftsmanship, rural production, and heritage as drivers for economic development and social cohesion. Officials, including the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, emphasized the need to transition local craftsmanship from subsistence activities into organized sectors with better equipment, financing, and commercial outlets.
