Cultural festivals launch in Ndjolé and Rufisque to promote heritage

The first edition of the Abanga-Bigné Cultural Festival (FESCAB) has commenced in Ndjolé, Gabon. Organized by the Ndjolé municipality and the Abanga-Bigné Departmental Council, the four-day event aims to promote local heritage and strengthen community ties under the theme ‘Our roots, our pride, our future.’

Promoter Dieudonné Nang Eko stated the festival seeks to provide a space for dialogue and to ensure younger generations connect with their ancestral culture. The program includes traditional dances, songs, crafts, gastronomy, and academic discussions regarding local history. The event is scheduled to conclude on August 15.

In Rufisque, the first edition of a cultural festival initiated by artist Fall Right is set to take place on September 12. Centered on the theme of ‘Conscious Youth,’ the event aims to use art as a tool for local development, civic awareness, and economic stimulation.

The Rufisque program combines community service and public sanitation efforts with music concerts, traditional dance performances, and football tournaments to engage the local population and support regional commerce.
