Portugal hosts diverse regional cultural and music festivals

Various regions across Portugal are hosting diverse cultural and musical festivals throughout late August and September 2026.

In Lisbon, the Festas na Rua program offers free music and cinema in public spaces from September 4 to October 4, featuring artists such as Mariza and the Gulbenkian Choir. Meanwhile, the Festa do Avante! at Quinta da Atalaia provides an eclectic program including Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and international musical guests.

Other notable events include the 600th anniversary of the Feira do Ano in Montemor-o-Velho, the Expomor 2026 in Montemor-o-Novo featuring Ana Moura and Sara Correia, and the Noite Gerações in Póvoa de Lanhoso, which expects to draw over 30,000 people with headliners like Xutos & Pontapés. Local traditions continue with the Festas da Exaltação da Santa Cruz in Estremoz and the Noites no Cais in Lagos.
