Cultural festivals scheduled for Görlitz and Grimma

The ninth edition of the ‘Kommen und Gehen’ Six-City Festival begins in August 2026, featuring events across Löbau, Zittau, Görlitz, Kamenz, Königshain, and Radeberg. In Görlitz, the program includes a scenic concert on August 18 titled ‘Der Reiche,’ which explores the life of merchant Hans Frenzel through Reformation-era music and modern texts. On August 22, the ‘Marilyn, und …?’ event will focus on female voices in art and politics, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe and highlighting Jewish female composers from the 1940s and 1950s.

In Grimma, the ‘Abend der Sinne’ event will take place on August 28, transforming the old town into a summer promenade. The evening features extended shopping hours, street music, and local gastronomy. Cultural highlights include performances at the Frauenkirche, musical programs by the Popkantorei, and extended opening hours for local museums, such as the Sparkassenmuseum and the DDR-Spielzeugmuseum.
