Czech Republic hosts various architecture festivals and awards
Various architectural events and awards are scheduled across the Czech Republic. The 15th Film and Architecture Festival will take place in Prague, Brno, and over thirty other cities in Czechia and Slovakia from September 30 to October 5, 2026. The festival explores the relationship between housing, urban design, and human psychology.
In the Moravian-Silesian Region, the Architecture Day festival will run from October 1 to 7, featuring tours and workshops in cities such as Ostrava, Opava, and Krnov. The theme, “I live, therefore I am,” focuses on the evolution of housing from the Middle Ages to the present.
Major industry recognitions are also underway. The Architect of the Year 2026 finalists will be announced on September 9 at PVA EXPO PRAHA. Additionally, the 11th Czech Architecture Prize has nominated 25 projects, including residential buildings, chapels, and schools, with the winner to be announced on November 12.
