Cultural festivals scheduled for October 2026 in Brazil and Japan

Two distinct cultural festivals are scheduled for October 2026, celebrating Japanese and Indonesian heritage in Brazil and Japan.

The Japan Festival Indaiatuba will take place from October 9 to 11 at Espaço Viber in Brazil. The event features a variety of attractions including cosplay parades, musical performances, magic shows, Bon Odori dancing, and Taiko percussion. It also serves as a precursor to the 80th anniversary of the Nipo-Brazilian Cultural and Sports Association (ACENBI). Admission is free, though visitors are encouraged to donate cleaning supplies for local social entities.

In Tokyo, the Indonesia & Japan Friendship Festival 2026 is set for October 17 and 18 at Yoyogi Park. The festival aims to strengthen ties between the two nations through music, dance, and culinary offerings. The lineup includes various Indonesian artists and performers, alongside a wide selection of food vendors specializing in Indonesian cuisine. The event is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
