Cultural festivals scheduled in Socorro and Viçosa

Several cultural events are scheduled in Brazil for the upcoming weekend. In Socorro, the fourth edition of the 'Mapa das Orquestras de Viola Caipira SP-MG' will take place at the Centro Cultural Movimento. The initiative, created by researchers Selma Maria and José Santos, aims to preserve regional musical traditions and promote cultural exchange through musical performances, storytelling, and historical accounts.

Simultaneously, the 19th ViJazz & Blues Festival will be held at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). Celebrating the university's centenary with the theme 'Centenary, Culture, Nature and Music,' the free festival features a diverse lineup including Jimmy Burns and Banda Black Rio. The event showcases various genres such as jazz, blues, soul, and funk, featuring both national and international artists.
