Cultural festivities and wood carving contests held in Tlaxcala
Cultural activities are underway in Tlaxcala, Mexico. The Casa de las Artesanías de Tlaxcala (CAT) has completed the evaluation of 68 entries for the 32nd State Wood Carving Contest. The competition includes artisans from 11 municipalities participating in six categories, such as carnival masks, traditional toys, and musical instruments. A total prize pool of 85,000 pesos, funded by state and federal governments, will be awarded to the top three winners in each category during an awards ceremony scheduled for August 26.
In Huamantla, the Feria Internacional del Arte Efímero y de la Dalia 2026 featured a musical performance by Grupo Liberación. The event, organized by the municipal government, aimed to provide cultural entertainment for families and visitors as part of the broader festivities celebrating local traditions and culture.
