Cultural funding initiatives announced in Velika Gorica and Serbia

The City of Velika Gorica in Croatia has issued a public call for the proposal of programs and projects related to public needs in culture for the year 2027. The call is open to associations, artistic organizations, independent artists, individuals, and legal entities. Eligible projects include activities for preserving traditional culture, cultural manifestations, and the acquisition of books and artistic productions significant to the city.

In Serbia, a new mechanism has been introduced to collect funds for children's programs, including cultural, educational, and sporting activities. According to the Official Gazette, specific fees will be applied to various services: 40 dinars on intercity and international transport tickets (rail, water, air, and road), 10 dinars on domestic postal shipments, and 33 dinars on tickets for theaters, cinemas, and other cultural or sporting events. The association ‘Prijatelji dece Srbije’ will manage the distribution and collection of these funds in cooperation with local child protection services.
