Cultural heritage and historical landmarks in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina features several significant historical and cultural sites, including the town of Konjic and the Bosanska Otoka region.

In Konjic, located in the Neretva river valley, the Old Stone Bridge (Stara ćuprija) serves as a central landmark. Built between 1682 and 1683, the bridge was destroyed during World War II and reopened in 2009 following restoration. The town is also known for its woodcarving tradition, which was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2017. Additionally, the nearby ARK D-0 complex, commonly known as Tito's Bunker, remains a notable site. Constructed between 1953 and 1979, this underground facility was designed to protect the Yugoslav military and political leadership in the event of a nuclear threat.

In the Una river region, Bosanska Otoka is noted for its historical roots dating back to 1264. The area is characterized by its natural landscape, including the Una river and its various islands, as well as a steel bridge dating from 1920.
