Cultural heritage events held in Isola del Giglio and Sinagra

Various cultural initiatives are taking place in Italy to preserve local history and recognize community merit.

In Isola del Giglio, the “Stato di Famiglia: Gigliese” event will be held at Giglio Castello on August 21. Curated by Palma Silvestri, the exhibition features a collection of black-and-white archival photographs recovered from the “Cantina del Racconto.” The project aims to help residents reconnect with their ancestral roots by showcasing historical images of families and daily life on the island.

In Sinagra, the 15th edition of the “Fratelli Sturzo” Award was held on August 8 at Palazzo Salleo. Promoted by the Casa della Memoria “Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa” in collaboration with local authorities, the award recognizes individuals whose professional and human commitment contributes to the common good. The event featured contributions from commission member Claudia Montana, focusing on the role of culture in personal and societal growth.
