Cultural heritage events held in Poznań and Vilnius
Cultural heritage events are taking place in Poznań, Poland, and Vilnius, Lithuania, highlighting historical artifacts and traditions.
In Poznań, as part of the 34th edition of European Heritage Days, Plac Kolegiacki will host various activities. The program includes archaeological exhibits from Adam Mickiewicz University, traditional craft workshops such as pottery, weaving, and bookbinding, and blacksmithing demonstrations. A 3D video mapping titled ‘Światło nieistniejącej kolegiaty’ will be projected onto the Poznań City Hall facade to recreate the appearance of the non-existent St. Mary Magdalene collegiate church.
In Vilnius, the Vilnius Cathedral Treasury is hosting the exhibition ‘Slėpti savyje’ (Hidden in Themselves). The exhibition features royal regalia discovered two years ago, including crowns, scepters, and globes belonging to Alexander Jagiellon, Elizabeth of Austria, and Barbara Radziwiłłówna. The exhibition explores the history of the treasury, including periods when treasures were hidden for safety during 1655, 1939, and 1991.
