Cultural heritage events scheduled in Galicia
The Galicia region is hosting several initiatives focused on cultural and historical preservation. In Lugo, the mobile art exhibition ‘Arte para levar. Cultura en movemento’ has arrived at the Xunta de Galicia delegation plaza. The project, promoted by Espacio Lupa Arte and artist Iago Eireos, uses a converted classic truck to bring contemporary art to new territories along the Camino de Santiago. The current exhibition, ‘TRADI. Mostra de arte no Camiño’ by artist Esther López, features approximately thirty photographs documenting Galicia’s intangible cultural heritage, including music, dance, and traditional attire.
Additionally, the Diputación de A Coruña will host the European Heritage Days (Xepdac) from October 20 to 25. Under the theme ‘Heritage at risk: revive, resist and reimagine,’ the event aims to address challenges such as climate change and rapid urbanization. The program includes guided visits to sites such as the A Bailadora military battery, the Santa María de Monfero monastery, and the Convento del Rosario in San Sadurniño, alongside activities in Ferrol, Eume, and Ortegal.
