Cultural heritage exhibitions scheduled for Himeji and Dazaifu
Several cultural and archaeological events are scheduled in Japan for late 2026.
In Dazaifu, the Kyushu National Museum will host a cultural preservation event on October 25. The program includes a guest talk featuring historian Tatsushi Fujiwara and museum staff, focusing on the significance of museum activities and cultural property conservation. While the facility tour is fully booked, the talk event remains open to the public with prior registration.
In Himeji, the Himeji City Buried Cultural Properties Center will hold an autumn exhibition titled ‘TOYOTOMI IMPACT’ from October 4 to December 20. The exhibition explores the archaeological evidence of the Toyotomi clan's influence on Himeji Castle, including the discovery of gold-leaf roof tiles. The event will feature lectures, site tours, and expert-led explanations to clarify the historical reality of the Hashiba and Kinoshita periods at the castle.
