Cultural heritage festivals held in Nikšić and Međimurje

Cultural events are taking place in Nikšić, Montenegro, and Međimurje, Croatia, to celebrate regional heritage.

In Nikšić, the Bedem Fortress will host a series of events as part of the September Days of Culture and the European Heritage Days. The program includes a traditional food festival featuring local delicacies such as priganice, pita, and homemade sweets. Additionally, the fortress will host the inaugural mini edition of the Green Electronic Fortress festival, featuring musical sets by Ma Khe and Audio Storm.

In Međimurje, the new festival ‘Eto, etno!’ was launched to mark International Cultural Heritage Day. The event, titled ‘Pod ruku s popevkom’, showcased the evolution of Međimurje’s traditional ‘popevka’ music through various performers and orchestras. While the program received praise for its quality and use of the Kajkavian dialect, organizers noted a lack of attendance from younger generations.
