Cultural heritage initiatives launched in Burkina Faso and Cameroon
In Burkina Faso, the National Center for Performing Arts and Audiovisual (CENASA) held a cultural tour in Kaya to promote social cohesion through music and dance. Under the theme ‘Music and dance, factors of social cohesion and affirmation of cultural sovereignty,’ the event featured national artistic ensembles and aimed to preserve cultural values for future generations.
In Cameroon, the Ngondo officially received a collective trademark certificate from the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) for Ndole Sawa. The ceremony, held at the Sawa Culture Palace, marked the launch of a promotional campaign to protect the culinary heritage of the iconic dish. The initiative seeks to prevent cultural misappropriation and leverage gastronomic tourism to promote local traditions and attract international visitors.
