Cultural heritage sites receive security updates and international recognition

The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) in Morelos, Mexico, has confirmed that cultural sites under its direct administration utilize specialized security schemes. Alma Rosa Cienfuegos Domínguez, head of the Department of Legal Procedures and Services, identified several protected locations, including the Casa de Morelos Historical Museum in Cuautla, the Palace of Cortés in Cuernavaca, the Tepoztlán Museum, and the Museum of Traditional Medicine and Herbalism. The latter is nearing reopening following restoration efforts necessitated by previous seismic activity.

In Spain, the Aranjuez Cultural Landscape Foundation has been awarded the ‘Ciudad de Alcalá de Patrimonio Mundial’ prize by the City Council of Alcalá de Henares. The award recognizes the Foundation’s work in protecting, managing, and promoting the UNESCO World Heritage site. The jury highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to institutional collaboration, citizen participation, and the promotion of cultural identity, marking the 25th anniversary of the site's UNESCO designation.
