Cultural heritage tours launched in Stolac and Vodnjan
Various cultural heritage initiatives have recently been launched to promote historical awareness through guided tours. In Stolac, the ‘Staza’ project organized its first thematic tour, which included visits to significant sites such as the Radimlja stećak necropolis, the Boljuni necropolis, and the Old Town of Stolac. The project, implemented by the Association for Cooperation and Development SARA Mostar in partnership with several local organizations and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark via UNDP, aims to foster understanding and cooperation through shared heritage.
In Vodnjan, the local Tourist Board organized a bilingual guided tour of the city cemetery as part of the ‘Conosciamo il Dignanese’ cycle. Led by journalist and writer Carla Rotta, the tour explored the cemetery’s architectural development, including the Tuscan-style portal and catacombs. Participants learned about the symbolism of various monuments and the historical significance of the site, including the stories of Italian soldiers from World War I and the legacy of local families.
