Cultural highlights feature Franco Battiato tribute and Gran Teatro Pucciniano

Cultural events in Italy include a musical tribute to Franco Battiato and a spotlight on the Gran Teatro Pucciniano.

On October 17, the Vita in moto cultural association will present ‘Summer on a solitary beach’ at Palazzo Rubino in Triggiano. Part of the ninth edition of the ‘Le terre di dentro’ festival, the concert-story features Pantaleo Annese and Francesco Giancaspro. The performance traces the three artistic phases of Battiato’s life, utilizing iconic tracks from albums such as ‘La voce del padrone’ and ‘L’era del cinghiale bianco’. The show explores themes of his move from Sicily to Milan, his encounter with Gurdjieff’s philosophy, and his spiritual search.

In Torre del Lago, the Gran Teatro Pucciniano continues its role as a center for musical tradition. Dedicated to composer Giacomo Puccini, the theater was inaugurated in 2008 near Villa Puccini. The venue hosts international opera, ballet, and symphonic concerts, utilizing modern technology to maintain its status as a cultural landmark in the Versilia region.
