Cultural highlights feature new Gozo boutique hotel and Calabria land art project

In Gozo, Malta, the Casa Azure boutique hotel, part of The Meliá Collection, has opened in the village of San Lawrenz. The hotel features seventeen rooms and suites designed with an emphasis on local limestone architecture. The interior design utilizes arches, vaults, and mineral tones to create a connection with the natural landscape rather than focusing on transient social media trends.

In Calabria, Italy, the Progetto Paterno continues its development of an open-air museum within the Serre Cosentine landscape. Since 2014, the project has hosted land art, bio-installations, and permanent works to promote cultural tourism. Recent artist residencies involved studying historical monuments, such as the Swabian Castle of Mormanno and the Abbey of San Giovanni in Fiore, resulting in multidisciplinary works like ‘Sono il Tempo’, a land art installation made from local straw.
